Notes:
The 1903 Silver Dollar is very common in Uncirculated condition,
but rare in Prooflike condition and extremely rare as a Deep Mirror
Prooflike. The most common Uncirculated grade is MS-64, but
even Gem examples are easy to find. The finest Uncirculated examples graded by PCGS are
39 MS-67's,
3 MS-66 Prooflikes, and 2 MS-65 Deep Mirror Prooflikes.
Looking at the Morgan Silver Dollar series as a whole, the most
common grade for Proofs is PR-64. However, 1903 is an
exception where the most common grade is lower at PR-63. Nevertheless,
Gem examples of this date are available. The finest examples graded by PCGS include
9 PR-67's, with none graded higher. Only one Cameo Proof (a
PR-65 CA) and no Deep Cameo Proof 1903 Silver Dollars have been
graded by PCGS.
