Notes:
The 1890-CC Morgan Silver Dollar is common in Uncirculated condition
but scarce as a Gem. Prooflike
examples are scarce but Deep Mirror Prooflikes appear quite
frequently (Gems in either format are very rare). The
typical Uncirculated grade is MS-63, followed by MS-62 and MS-64, in that
order.
The finest examples graded
by PCGS are 8 MS-66's, 7 MS-65 Prooflikes, and 16 MS-65
Deep Mirror Prooflikes.
The 1890-CC
"Tail Bar" variety (VAM 4) has a raised ridge that
connects the middle of the lower edge of the arrow fletches with the
leaves in the wreath just below. Although rare, this variety
is available in Uncirculated condition. The finest examples graded
by PCGS are 13 MS-64's and a single MS-64 Deep Mirror Prooflike.
