From Superior
Galleries' "Pre-Long Beach Sale", June 5-7, 2000, Lot 1582,
where it was described as follows:
"1796 Draped Bust Small
Eagle Small Date Large Letters Bolender-4 XF45. Another very
pleasing, well struck 1796 from this old-time collection. Here, as
in many of the other charming Bust Dollars in the set, the surface
is medium antique gray. Clearly it is in its original state, never
cleaned, untouched and undamaged.
B-4 is from the same small date obverse as B-3, with the following
corrections by the engraver: the curl on top of the head and stars
on right are perfect. For the reverse, there are eight plain berries
in the wreath (in B-1, B-2, and B-3, which share the same Small
Letters reverse, there are only 7 berries in the wreath)."
