From Superior
Galleries' "Pre-Long Beach Sale", June 5-7, 2000, Lot 1580,
where it was described as follows:
"1796 Draped Bust Small
Eagle Small Date Small Letters Bolender-2 NGC XF45. A scarcer
variety with this date and letter-size combination. The coin is
nicely centered on a problem-free planchet, the toning varies from
light brownish silver to deeper gray (at the letters and around the
stars). Carefully preserved, "fresh" and original, it will
undoubtedly draw much attention and, we feel certain, will command a
strong premium over that of a commoner variety. Mintage in 1796:
72,920."
