Notes:
This was the last year that Proof Coin Sets were available for $5 a set and it has only been in recent years that their retail value has approached their original sale price. Like the 1971 Proof Coin Sets, this one did not include the Eisenhower Dollar, which was available separately in a 40% silver Proof version.

Tips:
Look for sets with as many "cameos" as possible, although it is virtually impossible to find sets with five, fully frosted coins. Make sure the case is uncracked and completely sealed. Don't buy sets that are spotted or filmy. The outer packaging is not so critical, but reject anything that is overly worn, written upon, stickered, or torn.
