Wright confirmed a single one-sided Proof example of this variety in 1992 and he noted that all one-sided Proofs have Proof obverses only.

The obverse die of this variety was also used on 1831 Newcomb 7 and 1831 Newcomb 8.

The reverse die of this variety was also used on 1831 Newcomb 9 and 1831 Newcomb 12.
