"VG-10" (illustrated above).
Superior "Pre-Long Beach Sale", 06/2000:167,
where it was described as follows:
"1797 S-142 R5+ VG10 Slightly sharper with a rim dent at LI in
LIBERTY and a few minor nicks on the bust tip. Otherwise nice for the grade.
Glossy medium brown. EDS. The bottom of the obverse and top of the reverse are a
bit weakly struck due to non-parallel die surfaces, but the date is still very
clear. Graded VG10 by both Noyes and Bland. Listed as tied for CC#5 by Noyes, #8
by Bland, and most of the nicer ones have significant defects.
Ex Elmer's Stamp & Coin Shop (Boston) 2/4/50-C. Douglas Smith-Dr. Robert
A. Schuman."
