1793 LARGE CENT -
SHELDON NC-3

Rarity: 3 known

Notes:
On December 7, 2004, a group of Large Cent experts (Dan Holmes, Bob Grellman, John Kleeburg, and Jim Neiswinter), met at the American Numismatic Society to compare the edge devices on three of the four known "Strawberry Leaf" Cents and a number of 1793 Wreath Cents.  They discovered that the "Vine and Bars" edge device on the "Strawberry Leaf" Cents matches those of the following Wreath Cents:
Sheldon 5
Sheldon 6
Sheldon 7
Sheldon 10
Sheldon 11a
Sheldon NC4
Sheldon NC5

They also discovered that, on Sheldon 8 and Sheldon 9 (also Wreath Cents), the edge device has smaller, more squared leaves than on the afore-mentioned varieties, matching instead the edges found on the "Chain" Cent varieties!
