Galleries' "Pre-Long Beach Sale", October 1-3, 2000, Lot 3009, where it
was described as follows: "Reddish magenta with some gold, steel and a
touch of blue. Superb throughout, from the aforementioned color to its
bold relief and frosty frost. The mint changed designs in mid-year when
the earlier capped bust of Liberty gave way to this more graceful
rendition of America's icon casually seated upon a rocky outcrop while
holding a staff with liberty cap in one hand and supporting a Union shield
with the other. A simple wreath was chosen for the reverse."
