Superior Galleries New York ANA Sale, August 1-3, 2002, Lot 193,
illustrated, where it was described as follows: "1842. First
Restrike. Rarity-6+. Proof 64. Bluish steel brown with underlying faded
mint color on both sides. The fields are highly reflective and very
attractive. The best identifying marks are a speck of carbon in the
dentils right of star 13 and a shallow void in the planchet at the dentil
roots under star 1, as struck. Another choice proof half cent from this
old-time collection. Weight 78.3 grains. Ex E. A. Maust 1920-A.
Maust (son)."
