This finest example graded by PCGS is a single MS-66.
Varieties:
PCGS recognizes the following varieties:
1. Spike Shield - refers to a raised die gouge extending from the
lower left side of the shield on the reverse. This is by far
the most common variety identified by PCGS. Finest graded-8 MS-67's.
2. Bold Mintmark - common. Finest graded-3 MS-67's.
3. Narrow Serif on Mintmark - common, but much harder to find than
Variety 1 and Variety 2. Finest graded-24 MS-65's.
4. Bold 7, Fat Mintmark - common, similar to Variety 3 in number of
known examples. Finest graded-22 MS-64's.
5. Broken A in STATES - common, but a bit tougher than Variety 4.Finest
graded-2 MS-65's.
6. Mintmark positioned Right, with no serif - Scarce. Finest
graded-3MS-64's.
7. Mintmark positioned High, with no serif - Scarce. Finest graded-a
single MS-64.
8. Mintmark positioned Low, Bold - Rare. Finest graded-2 MS-64's.
