"1853/2" examples graded by PCGS are 2 MS-61's.
In
August, 2004, NGC published a partial population report of gold coins
recovered from the shipwrecked SS Republic. Included were 57
1853 Double Eagles, ranging in grade from EF-45 to MS-62. One of the
coins was listed as "Doubled Date".
