Panama-Pacific Gold Dollar were made privately at the expense of the
Panama-Pacific Exposition, then sent to the Mint to strike the coins. |
Recent appearances:
1915-S Panama-Pacific Set including the box of issue. Extremely
Fine to Uncirculated. Ex - Ira & Larry Goldberg Coins
& Collectibles, Inc.'s "Benson Collection, Part I",
February 16, 18-20, 2001, Lot 4214, "The half dollar has been
lightly cleaned. The one dollar gold coin has nice surfaces.
The $50 round has been lightly tooled on the edge, perhaps to remove
some minor marks, and then the surfaces were cleaned. The $50
octagonal has also been cleaned"
