"Extremely Fine".  Ex - Early American History Auctions, Inc.'s Mail Bid Sale, August 25, 2001, Lot 1414, where it was described as follows: "1787 NJ Copper, Large Planchet, Maris 63-s, Extremely Fine.  127.4 grains. Original reddish-brown in color, with tan high points. Evenly impressed on both sides, but with the characteristic weakness at the center of the shield. One small mark by the A of NOVA on the obverse. The surfaces are slightly dull, but far from being porous."

"Extremely Fine, faint scratches".  Ex - Early American History Auctions, Inc.'s Mail Bid Sale, August 25, 2001, Lot 1414, where it was described as follows: "1787 NJ Copper, Large Planchet, Plain Shield, Maris 63-s, Extremely Fine, faint scratches.  153.1 grains. Beautiful, glossy brown surfaces and a broad, full planchet. Were it not for some old, light scratches on the obverse, this would be a remarkable piece."
