Recent appearances:
VF-30 (illustrated below).  Ex - Superior Galleries' "Pre-Long Beach Sale", October 1-3, 2000, Lot 1027, where it was described as follows: "Maris 16-L Rarity-1 VF30. "Protruding Tongue" variety. Nice glossy chocolate and steel brown. Would rate a slightly higher grade except for a rim bruise at the right bottom of the reverse. Otherwise this example is nearly choice, just a bit of striking weakness in the centers, as usual. Later die state with the cud break at RE on the obverse. The "protruding tongue" feature is bold."
