PCGS MS-62 Brown. Ex - Ira & Larry Goldberg Coins
& Collectibles, Inc.'s "Pre-Long Beach Sale", September 23
& 24, 2002, Lot 70, illustrated, where it was unattributed,
incorrectly listed as a "Narrow Shield", and described as follows:
"PCGS graded MS-62 Brown. A specialists delight here, first
off the color is light brown and pleasing, with traces of reddish toning
intermixed on both sides. The strike is sharp and even the shield lines are
full. Remarkably free of handling marks, and this one seems undergraded if
anything. We suggest careful study by specialists, as this is really a nice one
so far as we can tell.

"About Uncirculated". Ex
- Early American History Auctions, Inc.'s Mail Bid Sale, August 25,
2001, Lot 1405, where it was described as follows: "1786 NJ Copper,
Maris 14-J, "Narrow Shield" Type, About Uncirculated.
156.5 grains. From Hillyer Ryder's personal collection and accompanied
by his original paper envelope and having notations in his hand! The
planchet on this example is a choice, perfect tan in color, with no
surface problems whatsoever except for a pair of old, thin scratches on
the upper and left side of the obverse. The details are quite superb."
