Notes:
Notice the crossbar atop all of the A's on both sides. Obverse:
the N in IN is reversed. The first A of MASATHVSETTS is very
crudely struck and appears to lack a crossbar. Reverse:
the first N in ENGLAND is reversed. An incuse N appears in the
field just below and to the left of XII.

"Very Fine"
(illustrated below). Ex - Early American History Auctions, Inc.'s
April 21, 2001 Mail Bid Sale, Lot 1026, where it was described as
follows: "1652 MA "Pine Tree" Shilling, Large
Planchet, Noe-5, Very Fine. 69.7 grains. Pleasing, silver-grey
colors, with some patches of lighter color where the planchet is wavy
and the toning has worn off the high points. Obvious scratches are
visible beneath the XII on the reverse. Nicely centered on a large
planchet."
