center obverse shows wonderfully clear tree, only partial legend ATHVSE
above it. Reverse displays full legend, date and value, all impressed with
remarkable precision. Deep field toning highlights lighter reliefs."

Numismatics, Inc., Mail Bid Sale April 21, 2001, Lot 1024, where it was described as
follows: "1662 MA "Oak Tree" Twopence, Noe-30, PCGS
graded Very Fine-30. 11.8 grains. A scarce denomination,
this example having perfect centering and excellent details on a
nice, full wide flan. The waviness of the planchet indicates that
this may be a "Witch Piece" (bent to ward off the witches
that haunted Massachusetts during the 1600s)!" - Heritage
