"Fine".  Ex - Early American History Auctions, Inc.'s Mail Bid Sale, August 25, 2001, Lot 1400, illustrated, where it was described as follows: "1788 MA Cent, Period after MASSACHUSETTS, Ryder 3-E, Fine.  152.9 grains.  Rarity 2 (Common).  An evenly worn example with relatively smooth surfaces for the grade except for some scattered patches of light, shallow verdigris.  Some minor, ancient rim bruises on the obverse. An affordable way to own this variety."
