Significant examples:
PCGS MS-63 Brown (illustrated above). Ex - Superior Galleries New
York ANA Sale, August 1-3, 2002, Lot 63, illustrated, where it was
described as follows: "1787 Massachusetts Half Cent. Ryder 5-A
Rarity-3. PCGS graded Mint State 63 Brown. Choice glossy steel brown
and chocolate with underlying frosty mint luster covering both sides. Free
of marks or planchet flaws. The only defect is some strike weakness on the
right half of the indian's skirt, which is normal for the variety. Early
die state. Great eye appeal. Clearly superior to the Taylor example and
fully comparable to the Weber pieces."
