Bid Sale, April 20, 2002, Lot 986, where it was described (in
part) as follows: "Exceedingly rare in
this condition. Condition Census and certainly one of the finest examples
known of this variety! This one boasts hard, glossy surfaces, lots of
detail, a pleasing olive-brown color, and the type of quality rarely
encountered on this variety. The planchet is free of any voids or flaws
and the only post-striking issues are a small, old mark by the B of
BUSINESS on the obverse and traces of old verdigris around the central
"wheel." The reverse shows heavy clash marks, which may account
for the scarcity of this variety. This is the first 12-U we've handled in
over six years."
