"Extremely Fine".
Ex - Early American History Auctions, Inc.'s Mail Bid Sale, June 9, 2001,
Lot 1243, where it was described as follows: "1721-H French Colonies
Copper Sou of 9 Deniers, Extremely Fine. 101.2 grains. La
Rochelle Mint. This coin has one of the best strikes we've ever seen on
this issue. The front of the coin has a slightly dry, olive color; the
reverse has a more natural red-brown appearance. An impressive piece made
expressly for use in the French Colonies."

Extremely Fine". Ex -
Early American History Auctions, Inc.'s Mail Bid Sale, August 25, 2001,
Lot 1356, where it was described as follows: "1721-H French
Colonies Copper Sou of 9 Deniers, nearly Extremely Fine. 87.1
grains. La Rochelle Mint. Glossy brown, although the surfaces have some
old roughness that may be attributed to defects in the original planchet.
Nice and attractive. These pieces are popular because there is no doubt
that they were meant for (and actually circulated in) the French Colonies."
