- Superior 05/2001:1017, plated, where it was described as
follows: "1787 Connecticut Miller 33.1-Z.13 Rarity-5 EF40. Choice
glossy medium brown. The only defects, and they are trivial, are a tiny
planchet chip hidden in the hair and a small spot of darker olive toning
(not carbon) on the rim at the bottom of the obverse. Struck very slightly
off center to K-5 on the obverse, K-11 on the reverse, but the date and
legends are complete. A very attractive example. E-MDS. Weight 128.2
grains."
"Very Fine"
(illustrated below)
- EAHA 12/2002:943, where it was
described as follows: "1787 CT Copper, Draped
Bust Left, Miller 33.8-Z.13, Fine. 124.7 grains. Rarity 5 (Rare). A scarce
variety in perhaps the latest die state yet encountered. This one has a
heavy break connecting the O of CONNEC with the rim and another crack
connecting the I of AUCTORI with the effigy's head. Lightly porous on the
obverse, a bit more so on the reverse. Dies rotated approximately 80
degrees. Full dateThe
attribution was incorrect; this coin is a late state of Miller 33.1-Z.13.
