Notes:
"In this year the 1908-O&S are the good dates, though the 1908-D which has a high mintage is a sleeper. Collectors who have advanced through the ranks of circulated coins will be surprised by the very low survivorship in mint state of this latter issue. Likewise, these same collectors will have expected the 1908-O to be scarcer than an R3 in mint state.

Of these four, the 1908-D&S come with the best strike and the 1908-O with the worst. All have nice luster, but the 1908-S tends to be "brighter.""1

The finest Uncirculated example graded by PCGS is a single MS-67.
