the Philadelphia Mint."

defies easy explanation. Rumor has it that a large shipment of these dimes
(and quarters) met disaster when a delivery wagon toppled in the Black
Canyon near Gunnison Colorado. This date not only is an R5 in mint state,
but also is fairly tough in all circulated grades."1
