is the last of the "middle years." The 1904-S is similar to the
1903-S, but slightly more common.
Both dates this year come reasonably
well struck; many of the high end (MS64 and above) 1904-S dimes we’ve
seen have deep toning with ample luster underneath. A “sleeper” key
date, the 1904-S is almost always on our want lists in various mint state
grades."1
